On-site Acceptance Meeting of the Integrated Technology for High-yield and High-quality Cultivation of Selenium-rich Potatoes in Lichuan City

On June 24th, the Agriculture Bureau of Lichuan City organized and held an on-site acceptance meeting of the integrated technology for high-yield and high-quality cultivation of selenium-rich potatoes in Tuanbao Town, Lichuan City. The meeting invited experts from relevant institutions such as Huazhong Agricultural University, Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Hubei Provincial Department of Agriculture, Enshi Prefectural Agriculture Bureau, and Enshi Prefectural Academy of Agricultural Sciences. At the same time, more than 150 agricultural technicians related to selenium-rich potatoes in Lichuan City and potato growers were organized to attend. According to the method of yield measurement and acceptance for the integrated technology of high-yield and high-quality cultivation of selenium-rich potatoes, the expert group conducted on-site yield measurement and acceptance of the effects of the combined application of Yishizhuang's special fertilizer for potatoes and organic fertilizer on potatoes.

The technicians from the Agriculture Bureau of Lichuan City organized the on-site yield measurement and acceptance.

Professor Zhao Zhuqing from Huazhong Agricultural University explained the functional characteristics of the special fertilizer for potatoes to the expert group.

Professor Xie Conghua of Huazhong Agricultural University and General Manager Liu Zufeng discussed the variety adaptability of the special fertilizer for potatoes. 

 During the visit, the expert group affirmed the integrated technology of comprehensive potato nutrient management that combines Yishizhuang's special fertilizer for potatoes with organic fertilizer. Combining with the fertilizer design concept of "medium concentration, full nutrition, and multiple functions", Professor Zhao Zhuqing of Huazhong Agricultural University explained in detail the application effects of the special fertilizer for potatoes from three functional aspects: "balanced nutrition, quality improvement and efficiency enhancement", "long-acting slow release, synchronous supply and demand", and "one-time application, time-saving and labor-saving". Professor Xie Conghua of Huazhong Agricultural University particularly mentioned the issue of the adaptability of the special fertilizer for potatoes and organic fertilizer to the dominant potato varieties. General Manager Liu Zufeng of Yishizhuang elaborated that in recent years, Yishizhuang's special fertilizer for potatoes has kept up with the breeding progress of the dominant selenium-rich potato varieties in Enshi Prefecture. In close cooperation with Huazhong Agricultural University, timely adjustments have been made to the fertilizer formula, and the application of organic fertilizer has further ensured the comprehensive nutrient requirements of selenium-rich potatoes.

 During the process of yield measurement and acceptance, the growers of selenium-rich potatoes also went deep into the fields to check the effects of the combined application of Yishizhuang's special fertilizer for potatoes and organic fertilizer on potatoes. They communicated with agricultural technicians and agronomists of Yishizhuang about the key points of planting techniques. They showed a strong interest in the integrated technical mode of comprehensive nutrient management that combines Yishizhuang's special fertilizer for potatoes with organic fertilizer, and hoped that this mode could be promoted and demonstrated in their own bases.

After the on-site meeting, everyone gathered in the conference room to jointly discuss the grand plan for the development of Enshi's selenium-rich potato industry. General Manager Liu Zufeng reported to the experts on the application effects of Yishizhuang's products on selenium-rich potatoes in the Enshi Prefecture region in recent years. He also expressed the hope that taking the development of the selenium-rich potato industry as an opportunity, by making use of the company's advantages in special fertilizers for crops, organic fertilizers, and water-soluble fertilizers, and collaborating with brother units in the fields of breeding, cultivation, and plant protection, with the main planted crops such as high-mountain vegetables, tea, and potatoes as the core, and relying on the powerful regional advantages of the "World Capital of Selenium", Yishizhuang can contribute to the development of Enshi Prefecture's selenium-rich industry.
