The National Key Special Project Maturation and Application of High-Efficiency Slow-Release Special Fertilizers for Rapeseed Officially Launched

On September 18, 2020, the launch meeting of the key special project of the National Key Research and Development Program "Science and Technology Boosting the Economy in 2020" - "Maturation and Application of High-Efficiency Slow-Release Special Fertilizers for Rapeseed", with Hubei Yishizhuang Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. as the leading unit undertaking the project, was grandly held in Yichang, Hubei Province.

Leaders and experts from relevant units, including the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Hubei Rural Science and Technology Informatization Promotion Center, Hubei Rural Science and Technology Informatization Engineering Technology Center, Rapeseed Office of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Hubei Province, Oil Crops Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Zhengzhou University, Yichang Science and Technology Bureau, Yichang Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Yiling District People's Government, Yiling District Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Yiling District Science and Technology Bureau, as well as project participating units such as Huazhong Agricultural University and Hubei Shanquan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., attended the meeting and witnessed the project launch ceremony. The meeting was presided over by the People's Government of our district. Wan Lichang, Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and Deputy District Chief, extended a warm welcome to the attending representatives. Relevant leaders and experts delivered important speeches, commented on the project, and put forward constructive opinions and suggestions.

At the meeting, Liu Zufeng, the project chief and Chairman of Hubei Yishizhuang, reported the basic situation of the project to the attending representatives. He said that as a core enterprise in the green production of organic fertilizers and the scientific application of formula fertilizers, Yishizhuang, after years of exploration and practice, has formed a complete product research and development and promotion system for the production and promotion of special slow-release fertilizers for rapeseed. After the project is launched, the company will assign specific personnel to be responsible, with leaders taking charge, and establish a perfect guarantee system from product scheme design, organization and implementation, to production and promotion. With confidence and determination, during the two-year implementation of the project, under the correct guidance of government departments at all levels and with the strong cooperation of Huazhong Agricultural University and Hubei Shanquan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., the company will jointly and solidly promote the project and submit a satisfactory answer sheet for exploring the scientific development path of high-efficiency rapeseed planting in China.

The project has specially established a consulting expert group. Professor Lu Jianwei from Huazhong Agricultural University was hired as the leader of the project consulting expert group. Researcher Wang Jijun, Director of the Cash Crops Division of the National Agricultural Technology Extension Center, Researcher Lu Mingxing, Deputy Director of the Rapeseed Office of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Hubei Province, Professor Hou Cuihong, Deputy Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering of Zhengzhou University, and Researcher Wang Xinfa from the Oil Crops Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences are members of the expert group. Liu Zufeng, the project chief and Chairman of Hubei Yishizhuang, issued letters of appointment to the experts. By gathering the strength of various experts, they will jointly answer questions on technical problems and escort the implementation of the achievements.

Professor Lu Jianwei, the leader of the project consulting expert group and from Huazhong Agricultural University, said that this letter of appointment is not only an affirmation but also a heavy responsibility. As scientific researchers, the members of the expert group will definitely use their own technical advantages to jointly promote the goal of "reducing fertilizer use and increasing efficiency" in the rapeseed industry and the transformation of technical achievements during the later implementation of the project. At the same time, as a project participating unit, Huazhong Agricultural University will also ensure the technical level and assume responsibilities in aspects such as the design of special formula fertilizers for rapeseed, the field effect test of pilot-scale fertilizer products, and the formulation of supporting fertilization technologies. The members of the project consulting expert group successively delivered speeches, expressing their willingness to jointly contribute ideas and efforts to the smooth progress of the project and the development of the rapeseed industry.

As an extension and expansion of the achievement "Special Slow-Release Fertilizers for Rapeseed" of the National Key Research and Development Program "Integrated Research and Demonstration of Technologies for Reducing the Application of Chemical Fertilizers and Pesticides in Rapeseed", the purpose of this project is to continue to optimize the county-level formula, research and develop new products of multi-functional special fertilizers for rapeseed, strengthen the integrated application and promotion with key planting technologies, achieve a demonstration application area of 2.5 to 3 million mu, save 30% of labor, 20% of fertilizers in rapeseed planting, increase the profit by more than 50 yuan per mu, and save costs and increase efficiency in planting by more than 150 million yuan, lead the development of the special fertilizer industry for rapeseed, and guide farmers to apply fertilizers scientifically.
