Since the establishment of Yishizhuang Business School and the construction of the base of Yipin Gong Cooperative, the company has been actively carrying out training work to empower various agricultural technologies. Recently, the company specially invited Zhou Jiawen, a specially-appointed agricultural technician for the pear industry in Yichang City and a senior agronomist, to conduct training on the winter pruning of pear (peach) trees and the planting mode in the demonstration orchard of the pear orchard at the Dongshan Citrus Base. This training provided a valuable learning opportunity for the agricultural technicians and sales staff of Yishizhuang, as well as the surrounding growers.
It is understood that Senior Agronomist Zhou Jiawen has 20 years of experience in technical service and planting of pear (peach) trees, and he has unique insights into the pruning techniques of pear trees of various varieties and ages. During the on-site guidance, he said, "Prune according to the '3 + 1' tree shape shaping principle, that is, discard the strong branches and keep the weak ones, and prune the inner branches while keeping the outer ones to achieve the shaping of the tree shape." Teacher Zhou summarized that the pruning of pear trees should form a "open-center shape" and "cylindrical shape" crown to ensure the rationality of the overall structure, which is the key to ensuring the yield and quality of pear trees.
At the training site, growers and technicians actively asked questions, and Teacher Zhou patiently and meticulously answered each of them one by one. Through on-site practical demonstrations and detailed explanations of the winter pruning techniques of fruit trees, the aim is to improve the quality of the fruits and lay a foundation for the harvest in the coming year.
The purpose of the establishment of Yishizhuang Business School is to empower agriculture with technology and cultivate new high-quality agricultural productive forces. This training that combines theory and practice has provided trainees with practical pruning techniques, enriched their hands-on experience, and promoted the inheritance and innovation of agricultural skills. In the future, Yishizhuang Business School will continue to carry out such training activities and keep contributing to the improvement of agricultural production levels.
