From March 29th to 31st, the 2018 Annual Summary and On-site Observation Meeting of the National Key Research and Development Program Project "Integrated Research and Demonstration of Technologies for Reducing the Application of Chemical Fertilizers and Pesticides in Rapeseed" was grandly held in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. Hundreds of key project experts, led by Professor Lu Jianwei from Huazhong Agricultural University, the chief expert of the national "Double Reduction" technology research for rapeseed, participated in the meeting. Relevant national and provincial leaders attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Hubei Yishizhuang Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. participated in this meeting as a sub-project unit of the eighth project of the project.
During the meeting, the leaders of project topics from various provinces and cities across the country and the persons in charge of sub-projects respectively reported the research progress of their topics in various places across the country in 2018 and the work plan arrangements for 2019.
In terms of the research on technologies for reducing the application of chemical fertilizers in rapeseed, gradient tests on the application amount of Yishizhuang's special slow-release fertilizer for rapeseed were carried out in key research areas of winter rapeseed such as Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Sichuan, and Henan. After preliminary situation investigation and data analysis, according to different regions or soil fertility conditions, the best effect is achieved when applying 40-50 kg of special fertilizer per mu, striving to achieve a 25% reduction in chemical fertilizer use. In the integrated technology models related to sub-projects such as "variety breeding", "cultivation mode", "full-process mechanization", and "green prevention and control", the application effects of the characteristics of Yishizhuang's special slow-release fertilizer for rapeseed, such as "one-time application", "simultaneous sowing of seeds and fertilizers", "scientific ratio", "addition of medium and trace elements", and "slow release and efficiency enhancement", have been recognized by the expert group.
During the report of the eighth project group, Dr. Liu Bo, on behalf of Hubei Yishizhuang Company, reported the relevant work progress of the sub-project "Development and Demonstration of the Application Technology of Special Controlled-release Fertilizers for Winter Rapeseed in Different Ecological Regions". The research and development work of special fertilizers for winter rapeseed in different ecological regions has been completed, and a special slow-release fertilizer for rapeseed with a total nutrient content of 40% (25-7-8) has been developed, which is suitable for the simplified cultivation of rapeseed. Currently, the product is being improved and upgraded according to the experimental demonstration situations in different ecological regions and the supporting application technologies. In the next step, relying on the demonstration platform of the National Agricultural Technology Extension Center and the technical research platforms of other sub-projects, the application effect will be further evaluated, and the technical regulations for the application amount of special slow-release fertilizers for rapeseed in different regions and the appropriate application methods will be formulated. And actively "go out" to match with the key technologies of related sub-projects such as seeds, pesticides, machinery, and cultivation, and cooperate to integrate the comprehensive technology model for efficient rapeseed planting.
Professor Lu Jianwei, the chief scientist of the project, made arrangements for the work of the next year. He emphasized that all members of the project group should not only focus on their work but also look ahead, firmly grasp the content of the project topics, strengthen the combination with upstream and downstream projects, accelerate the promotion and application of the technical model, and realize the transformation of achievements as soon as possible.
The meeting observed the large-scale core demonstration areas of "Double Reduction" in Guanghan City and Anzhou District. Currently, rapeseed is gradually entering the stage of pod development and maturity, which is also a relatively vigorous period of reproductive growth. The expert group can clearly see the performance of the integrated technology for reducing the application of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in rapeseed.
In the comprehensive application area of the "Double Reduction" model, Director Wang Jijun of the Oil Crops Division of the National Agricultural Technology Extension Center, Professor Lu Jianwei, the chief scientist of the project, and the expert group focused on checking the situation of the demonstration area of Yishizhuang's special slow-release fertilizer for rapeseed. They fully affirmed the work done by the team of Liu Dinghui from the Institute of Soil and Fertilizers of the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences for reducing the application of chemical fertilizers and increasing efficiency, and highly recognized the demonstration effect of Yishizhuang's special slow-release fertilizer for rapeseed.
The actions of the "Double Reduction" project promote the development of the entire rapeseed industry. Although the task is arduous, the mission is glorious. Hubei Yishizhuang will surely live up to expectations, actively absorb the valuable opinions put forward by the expert group for us, cooperate with other project groups to integrate and demonstrate the project, increase the promotion efforts through traditional and new media publicity methods, and strive to provide good services for the development of the rapeseed industry!
