The Watermelon Cultivation Technology Training Class Was Successfully Held in the No.1 Watermelon Town in Hubei

    Is the summer watermelon sweet? Cultivation technology is the key! In early February, in order to help melon farmers with the seedling raising and cultivation of watermelons, the Yicheng Agricultural Technology Extension Center specially held a training class on watermelon cultivation and management technology. Professor Bie Zhilong from Huazhong Agricultural University, an expert in the National Western Melon and Muskmelon Industry Technology System, was invited to give on-site lectures, bringing new technologies, new models, and new methods to local melon farmers. Technical personnel from Hubei Yishizhuang Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. were invited to participate in the training. Director Luo of the Yicheng Agricultural Technology Extension Center presided over the event and delivered a speech.

Liushui Town in Yicheng City is known as the "No.1 Watermelon Town in Hubei". This training session was held in Huangchong Village and Liutai Village of Liushui Town respectively. At the meeting, Professor Bie Zhilong taught ten key technologies for the facility cultivation of watermelons, such as watermelon varieties, seedling raising, fertilizer and water management, and pest control, according to local conditions. Among them, he particularly mentioned the light-simplified cultivation technology of watermelon package fertilization. Compared with the usual fertilization habits, it has a remarkable effect of increasing yield and improving quality. The large-scale watermelon growers attending the meeting all said they benefited a lot.

Deng Tianming, a technical personnel from Hubei Yishizhuang, combined the company's products and shared a mature technical solution for watermelon package fertilization at the meeting. He gave an example to explain the demonstration and promotion path of the watermelon package fertilization plan for Shuangjing watermelons in Jingmen, which has expanded from 2 greenhouses to thousands of greenhouses at present. He also shared the achieved effects and generated benefits, helping melon farmers to recognize and understand special formula fertilizers and accept scientific fertilization models.

After the meeting, the training participants jointly visited the modern watermelon seedling raising base and greenhouses. Experts explained the seedling raising technology on the spot and answered the questions encountered by growers in production and application. At the same time, they jointly discussed the establishment of a standardized planting demonstration site for greenhouse watermelons to create a benchmark for the promotion of the new model.

    Watermelon Package Fertilization Plan

1.Base Fertilizer
Apply 40-50 kg/mu of Yishizhuang 42% (18-8-16) special fertilizer for western melons and muskmelons, 400-1000 kg/mu of Yishizhuang bio-organic fertilizer, and 20 kg/mu of "Yishizhuang" compound microbial bacterial liquid. Combine with irrigation on the ridges and dilute it 200 times.

2.Topdressing
When the watermelons are the size of an egg and the size of a bowl mouth respectively, topdress 10 kg/mu of Yishizhuang 45% (15-5-25) tower-type fulvic acid fertilizer and 10 kg/mu of "Yishizhuang" compound microbial bacterial liquid, and dilute it 300-500 times for application.
