Currently, he serves as the director of the Academic Committee of Nanjing Agricultural University and the chairman of the National Strategic Alliance for Technological Innovation of Organic (like) Fertilizer Industry (Ministry of Science and Technology). He has previously served as the chief scientist of the National 973 Program, a subject expert in the modern agriculture field of the National 863 Program, a member of the Expert Consultation Committee of the Life Sciences Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the convener of the Discipline Appraisal Group of Agricultural Resources and Environment of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, the vice - president of the Soil Science Society of China, and the head of the Expert Group for Cultivated Land Quality Construction and Management of the Ministry of Agriculture.
He has been engaged in research on organic (like) fertilizers and soil microorganisms for a long time. The manufacturing process technology of organic (like) fertilizer products has been adopted by 600 enterprises nationwide, making outstanding contributions to the development of China's organic (like) fertilizer industry. The comprehensive technical system, with the application of all - element bio - organic fertilizer as the core technology, to promote the growth and development of food crops and prevent and control soil - borne diseases of cash crops has achieved remarkable results and has been widely promoted and applied, providing important support for the sustainable development of China's agriculture.
